ST. LOUIS - The No. 17 ranked Missouri Baptist men's wrestling team squared off against the No. 3 ranked Missouri Valley College Vikings on Wednesday night. The Dual featured eleven ranked wrestlers combined from both schools, but Missouri Valley proved to be too much for the Missouri Baptist wrestlers. The Spartans fell to the Vikings by a score of 31-6.
Missouri Valley controlled the mat most of the night. The Vikings sent out nationally ranked wrestlers in eight of the night's ten matches, and won all but two matches on the night. The Spartans only points came from the 133 and 184 weight classes.
No. 5 Ranked Senior Chris Padilla won the 133 contest by decision 2-1 over No. 12 ranked Todd Brackett. At the 184 weight class, No. 9 ranked Senior Weston Keleher won by decision 4-2 over No. 11 ranked Brett Bader. The Vikings won all other matches; two by pinfall, one by major decision, and the rest by decision.
The Spartans will be back in action this Saturday when they compete in the Coe College Tournament in Cedar Rapids, IA.
