ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist's Ian Brosch bested Friday's four goal performance with five scores on senior night as the Spartans Cruised past Wheaton College 15-6.
Missouri Baptist (5-4) scored early and often on breezy Saturday evening. Freshman Aaron McClintock opened-up the scoring for the home team with two first quarter goals. Brosch netted his first of the game with three second remaining in the opening period as MBU took a 3-1 lead into the second quarter.
The Spartans came out firing in the second quarter. Mike Howle scored two goals while Chase Hammernick, Griffin Trotter and Brosch also posted goals. Trotter finished with two scores on the night.
After building an 8-1 lead at halftime, MBU posted seven second-half goals on the way to the big conference victory. The Spartans improved to a season-best 5-4 record with the win.
Next up for Missouri Baptist at home will be the Kansas Jayhawks on Friday night. Face off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
