ST. LOUIS – Junior setter Ally Krus was named by the American Midwest Conference office as the AMC Player of the Week.
The St. Louis, Mo. native led the Spartans to a 5-0 record during the week, including two victories over ranked opponents. She posted 221 assists over 18 sets, an average of 12.2 per set. Krus recorded seven kills on 33 attempts, while posting five service aces, 50 digs, and eight total blocks.
In the first match of the week against AMC opponent Benedictine-Springfield, Krus posted 34 assists over three sets. She added two kills, two service aces, nine digs, and two block assists.
Against No. 15 Evangel, Krus recorded 49 assists over four sets, for an average of 12.25 per set. The junior added 16 digs and one block assist in the victory.
The third match of the week against Baker, Krus again dished out 49 assists in the four-set victory. She added two service aces, seven digs, two solo blocks, and three block assists.
The Spartans made quick work of tournament host and No. 18 Grand View, defeating the Vikings in three sets. The setter posted 43 assists, averaging 14.33 per set. She added a service ace and six digs in the victory.
In the weekend finale against MidAmerica Nazarene, Krus recorded 46 assists over four sets. She added three kills on ten attempts and had 12 digs in the victory over the receiving votes squad.
For the season, Krus ranks No.2 in the country with 11.640 Assists Per Set, and No. 2 in the NAIA with 1176 Total Assists. She has nearly 100 more assists than the next AMC setter.
Missouri Baptist is 27-1 this season and will host two massive conference matches this week. The Spartans host William Woods on Wednesday night and No. 3 Park on Friday evening.
