ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist women's basketball shot 51 percent from the floor in the second half of Tuesday's game against Culver-Stockton College, but coughed-up 20 turnovers in a 66-61 loss at home.

Missouri Baptist (0-1) led for the majority of the first half, as Jasmine Jackson led the Spartans with seven first-half points. The Wildcats, however, responded with a bucket by Jasmine Mathews with just 11 ticks left on the clock to give Culver-Stockton a 27-26 lead heading into the break.

In the second half, the Wildcats continued just as they ended the first half. Culver-Stockton never trailed in the final 20 minutes as Missouri Baptist looked for ways to get back into the game. Taylor Klingelhoefer drained a three-pointer with 6:41 remaining in the game to cut the deficit to two, but that was as close as the Spartans made it.

Jackson led Missouri Baptist on the night with 14 points and four rebounds. Klingelhoefer also had a nice night with 12 points while newcomer Aimee Iverson rounded-out those in double-digits with 11.

Jasmine Mathews led the Wildcats on the night. The junior finished with 13 points and three steals while Larra Kubinski followed with 12 points. 10 players from Culver-Stockton recorded points in a very balanced effort.

As a whole, Missouri Baptist collected 22 personal fouls, and while the Spartans outshot the Wildcats from the floor, from three-point range and from the free throw line, the transition game for MBU proved to be the Achilles Heel for the team.

Missouri Baptist will now try to regroup as the team will have just over a week to prepare for a road test against Olivet Nazarene on Nov. 12.
