SPARTAN TENNIS TAKES TOUGH LOSS TO LINDENWOOD-BELLEVILLE

ST. LOUIS – [RESULTS] Missouri Baptist men's tennis won at No. 1 singles, but failed to convert on several close matches against conference opponent Lindenwood-Belleville in a 5-1 loss on the road on Tuesday.

MBU took No. 1 doubles and Nos. 5 and 6 singles to tiebreak sets, but was unable to get over the hump as the Spartans dropped a close one.

Drew Morris picked-up the sole victory against Eduardo Garcia in the match. Morris, a nominee for NAIA National Tennis Player of the Week this week, won 6-2, 7-5 to collect his third win in as many matches.

Sean Nanney and Cody Taplin both split their games and went to tiebreak sets at No. 5 and No. 6 singles respectively. Both players lost 10-8 in the final set as the Spartans dropped to 4-7 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

MBU will take-on another conference opponent in Missouri Valley College on Wednesday in the final conference match of the regular season.
