THE GAME: Missouri Baptist University will play its first football game in the inau- gural 2014 season on Thursday, August 28, 2014 against NCAA D-I FCS opponent, Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

This will be the first game of the season for both teams. Harry Schroeder, the voice of Missouri Bap- tist Football will be on the call with the road voice, Brad Cygan. Bo Bunton will also be featured as the sideline reporter for today's contest. Eric Sean will begin his 16th season as the voice of Southeast Missouri State Athletics. He will be joined by former Southeast Quarterback, analyst Rick Wieser, and sideline reporter Todd Bonacki.

MAKING HISTORY: Missouri Baptist Football is entering its first season of play in 2014 and will open against a tough opponent in the Redhawks. In addition to this being the first game for the MBU Football Program, it will also be a first for both head coaches. Southeast coach Tom Matukewicz and Missouri Baptist coach Jason Burianek will face-off in each of their first games at the helm of their respective team. For Burianek, it will be his first as a head coach at any level. Missouri Baptist, as a whole, is celebrating its 50-year anniversary in 2014.

SOUTHEAST MISSOURI STATE: The Redhawks are beginning anew in 2014 and will be trying to shake-off a 3-9 record in 2013. A season ago, SEMO dropped its first five in a row before grabbing its first win in a three overtime thriller against chief rival, Murray State University. The Redhawks have won just three games in each season spanning from 2011. In 2010, the team went 9-3 and reached the first round of the FCS playoffs where the team played eventual NCAA D-I FCS National Champion, Eastern Washington.
