MALLORY DILLON NAMED AMC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ST. LOUIS – The American Midwest Conference office announced Missouri Baptist women's volleyball player Mallory Dillon as the recipient of the first Player of the Week honor.

The sophomore from St. Charles, Mo. has been outstanding in her first season as a Spartan. In five matches last week, Dillon racked up 66 kills on 134 swings. She averaged 3.88 kills per set over the 17 sets during the week. Dillon recorded 14 service aces, 44 digs, four solo blocks, and 13 block assists during the Spartans 5-0 week.

The former NCAA Division I outside hitter posted two double-doubles this past weekend, en route to a perfect 4-0 record.

In the second match of the week against Missouri Valley, she posted a career-high six service aces and also had 14 kills on just 21 swings. She also had one solo block and six block assists.

Against Oklahoma City University, Dillon had a career-high 19 kills on 34 swings, and 10 digs. She added two block assists and a service ace.

Against Central Methodist, Dillon had 11 kills and 16 digs. She also posted three service aces and a solo block.

In the weekend finale, Dillon had 16 kills against Kansas Wesleyan. She had nine digs, one solo block, and three block assists.

On the season, Dillon's 25 service aces ranks fifth in the country, while her 3.740 kills per set ranks 18th in the NAIA. The 24th-ranked Spartans take on NCAA Division II Maryville University on Tuesday before taking eight days off to prepare for NCAA Division II Quincy University.
