ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] The Missouri Baptist women's volleyball team defeated St. Mary-of-the-Woods College (Ind.) 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-22) on Tuesday.
The Spartans (24-2, 8-0) took control right away in set one. MBU held the Pomeroys to only six kills in the set and recorded 17 kills of its own.
Missouri Baptist continued the momentum of the first set into set two. The Spartans held St. Mary-of-the-Woods to a negative hitting percentage and its lowest number of kills (4) in the match.
MBU closed out the match in set three with a score of 25-22). Missouri Baptist held SMWC to a 0.081 attack percentage as the Spartans posted their highest attack percentage of the set 0.231.
Hannah Carey and Mallory Dillon led MBU with 15 kills apiece. Dillon recorded a double-double with 15 kills and 11 digs.
Taylor Cook and Catie Ward led the defense with 11 and 10 digs respectively.
The Spartans will now prepare for a big weekend as the team will compete in the Grand View Fall Classic where they will face No. 4 Biola (Calif.), No. 10 Evangel (Mo.) and No. 25 Grand View (Iowa).
