SEARCHING FOR A SPARK: The Missouri Baptist offense went off on Saturday against the Olivet Nazarene University Tigers. MBU capitalized on turnovers and big offensive plays to enter the final minutes tied at 45. Jacob Hunt threw for 289 yards and three touchdowns, all of which to Quinton Kornegay

Kornegay, the Spartan wide receiver from Belleville, Ill., totaled an MBU record 167 yards receiving and three touchdowns, both records.

Though probably recording the best defensive week of any player in the NAIA this season, he was passed over for conference honors.

SCOUTING SAINT AMBROSE: The Fighting Bees are in the midst of a two-game losing streak, but hope to buck the trend as the Spartans come to town today.

Patrick Smith leads the passing attack and is one of the best in the NAIA at his position, while he has just 13 touchdowns on the season, he has been among the top 15 signal-callers in the NAIA in passing yards and yards per game.

Brad Connor has been on the receiving end of Smith's throws this season and is the primary threat at wideout. The junior from Bloomington is just under 600 yards receiving for the season and has seven touchdowns to his credit.
