ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] The No. 1 Missouri Baptist women's volleyball team finished the regular season with a 3-1 (25-18, 25-16, 22-25, 25-13) win over Hannibal LaGrange (Mo.) on Tuesday.
As the regular season came to a close on Tuesday, 13 different Spartans (32-3, 12-0) saw court time against the Trojans.
MBU started things off on the right foot in set one as Hannibal LaGrange recorded only seven kills in the set to the Spartans 14.
Missouri Baptist remained in control in set two as MBU recorded their second highest hitting percentage of 0.474. The Spartans held HLGU to their lowest number of team kills (5) in the set.
The roles reversed in set three as Hannibal LaGrange posted their highest hitting percentage of 0.419 while holding Missouri Baptist to 0.278.
MBU got back on track in set four and recorded its highest hitting percentage of 0.500. All the while, the Spartans held the Trojans to a negative 0.037 hitting percentage, which was their lowest percentage of the match.
Taylor Cook led the Spartans with 11 kills and four service aces as well as seven digs on the night. Hannah Carey followed closely behind Cook with 10 kills.
Ally Krus notched 30 assists on the night for an average of 10 assists per set. Natalie Gremaud also recorded some court time with 11 assists on the night.
Haley Pouliezos posted 16 total digs on the night for an average of 5.33 digs per set.
The Spartans closed out the season undefeated in the American Midwest Conference (AMC) and claimed the conference regular season title.
