THE GAME: Missouri Baptist University will play its ninth game of the 2015 season and its fifth MSFA Mideast game against Concordia (Mich.) on Nov. 7, 2015 in St. Louis, Mo. The game will be the second homecoming game in history for the Spartans.
SEARCHING FOR A SPARK: The Missouri Baptist offense went quiet two weeks ago against St. Ambrose (Iowa) before the final bye week of the season. Two field goals marked the day for MBU, while the defense did manage to hold the Fighting Bees to a season-low 30 points.
Nathaniel Wurmb finished his day with eight tackles one solo sack and two sack assists.
SCOUTING CONCORDIA: The Cardinals have had an up and down season after enjoying some thrilling victories and rough defeats. After starting 0-1 with a tough loss to St. Ambrose (Iowa), Concordia rattled-off three consecutive wins and four of the next five, including a 35-14 blowout over No. 5-ranked St. Xavier (Ill.).
Currently, the Cardinals are in the midst of a three-game losing streak and are looking to buck the trend today against MBU.
Quarterback Seth Suida is mobile and leads the rushing attack this season with over 600 yards on the ground. Currently, the sophomore quarterback is just 50 yards shy of 1,000 passing this season. Corey Turner, the 6-3 senior wideout has been his favorite target with 13.7 Yards per Catch and five touchdowns this year.
Ashton Gray, the starting running back, is averaging 4.7 Yards per Carry and has five touchdowns this season.
FOR THE RECORD: Jacob Hunt set a new record in passing yards (289) and tied records in longest passing touchdown (75 yds) and total touchdowns in a game (3) on Saturday against Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) ... Maleek Ross is now ninth in the MSFA in total sacks with five (four unassisted) and leads the conference in tackles for loss with 19 and is second in the MSFA Mideast in Forced Fumbles with four... The MBU defense held St. Ambrose to a season low of 30 points two weeks ago
