SPARTANS DEFEAT FONTBONNE UNIVERSITY IN STRAIGHT SETS
ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist University men's volleyball team looked to their bench Tuesday night in a strong 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-22) win over the Fontbonne University Griffins.
In the first set the teams held a close score until nine all. The Spartans (9-4, 3-0) then took a commanding lead and closed out the set 25-15 and held the Griffins to five kills on a .083 hitting percentage.
MBU continued to lead Fontbonne University through the second and third sets and took the game from the Griffins three sets to none.
Setting a new career high, Donald Flemming led the Spartans with 11 kills on a .182 attack percentage. Chris Flood followed Fleming with 9 kills of his own and posted a new career high of 8 service aces.
Also recording new career highs in kills were Joshua Williams (4), Alex Navatto (5), and Daniel Prada(7).
Setter, Andrew Douglas recorded a season high of 13 assists.
Still undefeated in conference play, Missouri Baptist will face conference opponent, Lindenwood University - Belleville, on the Spartan home court Thursday, February 26, 2015, at 7:00 pm.
