ST. LOUIS – [Results] The Missouri Baptist men's tennis team dominated Lindenwood-Belleville today, soundly defeating the Lynx, 8-1. The Spartans improve to 6-6 on the season.
MBU swept doubles action, as No. 1 Drew Morris and Quinton Argent defeated Basil DeRaemy and Rory Cunliffe, 8-4.
At No. 2, Conner Stevenson and Yann Herve dominated Rodrigo Kurogi and Trai Thorney, 8-4.
No. 3 Sean Nanney and Tanner Morris had a more competitive match, defeating Dylan Prosser and Christian Hamilton, 8-6.
In singles play, the Spartans won 5-of-6 matches.
No. 1 Drew Morris wasted no time earning the victory, as he defeated DeRaemy, 6-2 and 6-3.
No. 3 Conner Stevenson had the match of the day, as he had to win in comeback fashion. After dropping the first set 3-6, he came back to win set two, 7-5. In the tiebreak set, Stevenson won 10-5 to win the match.
Yann Herve defeated his opponent at No. 4. He won 6-0 and 7-6 (6).
Sean Nanney won at No. 5, defeating his opponent, 6-2 and 6-3.
At No. 6 singles, Tanner Morris also had to come back to pick up the win. He dropped the first set, 2-6, won set two, 6-2, and won the tiebreak, 10-6.
Missouri Baptist will host Saint Louis College of Pharmacy tomorrow evening at 5 pm.
