ST. LOUIS – [Results] After a sluggish start in doubles play, the Missouri Baptist men's tennis team bounced back with five or six singles victories to narrowly defeat Principia, 6-3.
No. 1 doubles team Drew Morris and Quinton Argent fell at No. 1 doubles, as did No. 2 doubles team of Conner Stevenson and Yann Herve.
The No. 3 doubles team of Tanner Morris and Sean Nanney earned what ended-up being a massive victory, as the two won 8-4.
At No. 1 singles, Drew Morris defeated his opponent, 6-4 and 6-1.
Quinton Argent won at No. 2 singles, 6-3 and 6-4, while Yann Herve won at No. 4 singles, 6-4 and 7-5.
No. 5 singles player Sean Nanney had the match of the day, as he came back from a split set to win the tiebreak, 6-2.
Tanner Morris won at No. 6 singles, 6-1 and 6-0.
Missouri Baptist will head into AMC Tournament action with plenty of steam. The Spartans have won three consecutive matches and improved to 8-6.
