St. Louis – [Results] In the final regular season match of the season, the Missouri Baptist men's tennis team went out with a bang. The Spartans did not drop a game the entire match against Fontbonne, and improved to 10-6 on the season.
At No. 1 doubles, Quinton Argent and Ian Furey defeated Blake Wisniewski and Khoa Trieu, 8-0. It was Furey's first match at No. 1 doubles.
Tanner Morris and Yann Herve also shut out their opponent at No.2 doubles.
The Spartans earned a victory at No. 3 doubles by default.
In singles play, head coach Cole Stevenson mixed-up the lineup.
No. 1 mainstay Drew Morris won, 6-0 and 6-0, while No. 2 Yann Herve also won, 6-0 and 6-0.
At No. 3 singles, Tanner Morris improved to 4-0 with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
Jed Flemming improved to 2-0 at No. 4 singles, defeating his opponent, 6-0 and 6-0.
The Spartans won at No. 5 and No. 6 singles by default to sweep the Griffins.
Missouri Baptist will take on Lewis and Clarke Community College in exhibition play tomorrow afternoon.
