TOPEKA, KAN. - The Missouri Baptist men's tennis team posted their first ever conference tournament win, with a 6-0 victory over Grand View University.
The men continued their strong doubles play with a 3-0 sweep.
Fresh off their First Team All-Conference award, the duo of Drew Morris and Quinton Argent won 8-4.
MBU's No. 2 doubles team, Conner Stevenson and Yann Herve, (also named second team all-conference) made quick work of their opponents 8-1.
Sean Nanney and Tanner Morris completed the sweep with an 8-4 win.
In singles action, the Spartans won in straight sets at No.'s 4, 5, and 6.
Sophomore, Yann Herve, opened singles with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at number 4 singles.
At No. 5 singles, Sean Nanney won 6-4, 6-3.
Making his conference tournament debut, freshman Dylan Walker won at number 6 singles 6-1, 6-3.
After the match, head coach Cole Stevenson said, "I'm excited with what we've accomplished so far. With 4 guys named to the all-conference team, plus a first round sweep, this might be the best season we've ever had as a program. We are not done yet though and I'm looking forward to our match against Missouri Valley tomorrow."
The No. 3- seeded Spartans move on to the semifinals and face the No. 2- seeded Vikings from Missouri Valley College. First serve is scheduled for 9am.
