ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] The Missouri Baptist women's volleyball team finished up competition in Miami with a 3-0 (25-6, 25-23, 25-18) sweep of Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) on Saturday afternoon.
MBU was off to a running start with a few long rallies against Olivet Nazarene. As the team settled-in, they took control with the solid play of Hannah Carey at the net.
Haley Pouliezos posted an ace to put MBU at set point and after an ONU ball handling error the Spartans notched a 25-6 win.
With some fresh faces on the court, Missouri Baptist continued its attack on the Tigers. Olivet Nazarene tried to take advantage of the fresh blood but after a big overpass kill from Jen Brendel the Spartans made their way to a 25-23 win.
MBU with another lineup shift started set three with the advantage with a kill off of the hand of Mallory Dillon. The Tigers persistence kept Missouri Baptist on their toes but the Spartans closed out the set 25-18.
