An incredible week of volleyball by Missouri Baptist has been paralleled in the Player of the Week polls as three Spartans took home this week's Volleyball Player of the Week awards. Two athletes, Mallory Dillon and Haley Pouliezos, are returners to the spotlight already this season. The Spartan setter, Ally Krus, takes home her first Setter of the Week award.
If you are familiar with American Midwest Conference Volleyball, you have heard the name Ally Krus before. The senior setter out of St. Louis, Mo. stepped up her game by totaling 194 assists in four games while racking up a pair of double-doubles against ranked opponents. Overall, Krus averaged 11.4 assists per set with her highest total performance of 58 assists coming against No. 7 ranked Lindsey Wilson. The Spartans went 3-1 on the week, all against top-25 ranked competition. Their only loss coming against No. 4 ranked Viterbo from Wisconsin. With an astonishing 194 assists on the week, Krus rightfully earns this week's Setter of the Week Award.
The voting was unanimous in favor of Mallory Dillon this week. The junior put up a rock-solid case towards her earning her second consecutive Attacker of the Week award. Dillon tallied up a total of 77 kills on the week, averaging out to 4.81 per set. She also put up a new season high of 27 kills against No. 4 Viterbo. Combine the powerful offensive numbers with a pair of double-doubles and 6 serving aces, Dillon obviously belongs in the limelight again.
