Box Score ST. LOUIS- [BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist Women's Volleyball returned home to face Benedictine College on Friday night and the Spartans eased to a 3-0 victory (25-14, 25-15, 25-22).
MBU played determined volleyball in the first two sets and the Ravens struggled to keep it close. Missouri Baptist led by as many as 10 in the first set and as many as 11 in the second.
Benedictine finally got it going in the third frame. BC had the set tied as late as 20-20. The Spartans proved to be too much, however, as they pulled away for a 25-22 set win and match sweep.
Missouri Baptist finished the match with four players having posted double-digit kills. Mallory Dillon and Cate Cigarini led the way with 12 apiece. Marion Couraud and Tina Medanovic each registered 11 kills. Couraud put in one of her best performances of the season, finishing with a .611 hitting percentage.
Setter Megan Huffman chipped in 45 assists, while libero Natalie Gremaud provided 19 digs. Mallory Dillon completed a double-double with 11 digs, as well.
The Spartans will now enjoy some time off before they face Vanguard University at home next Friday, October 21, in a 2 pm matinee.
