ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist men's tennis started the final week of the regular season with a match at Principia College on Tuesday. The Spartans defeated the Panthers with a decisive 8-1 victory.

Missouri Baptist (7-6, 4-0 AMC) continued their dominance in doubles with their fourth doubles sweep of the season. The Spartans are undefeated when winning all three doubles matches. 

At No.1 doubles, Lucas Oliveira and Quinton Argent won their second match in a row with an 8-2 victory.

The Spartans' No.2 duo, James Tobin and Ricardo Martin, reached double digits with their tenth win of the season.

Pairing up for the first time this spring, Tanner Morris and Sean Nanney shutout their opponents 8-0 at No.3.

Missouri Baptist did not let up in singles, winning five of the six matches.

At No.2 singles, Quinton Argent picked up his second win in a row with a straight set victory, 7-5 6-2. 

After a close first set, Ricardo Martin blanked his opponent in the second set. Martin won his fourth match in a row and improves his record to 7-4.

Freshman James Tobin made quick work of his opponent, winning 6-0 6-2. Tobin currently holds the longest singles win streak on the team with six in a row. 

Sean Nanney also added to his win streak with a straight set victory at No.5 singles. The St. Charles native picked up his fourth win in a row. 

Sophomore Dylan Walker picked up his first singles win of the season. The Spartan No.6 singles player edged out a tiebreaker first set before dominating the second set 6-0.

"We're on a nice roll right now," Head Coach Cole Stevenson said after the match. "This was a good match for us to work on things, stay fresh, and in a good rhythm."

The Spartans return to action on Friday for Senior Night against William Jewel College. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
