SPARTANS ADVANCE TO GRLC SEMIFINAL

ST. LOUIS [BOX SCORE] – The Missouri Baptist men's lacrosse team defeated Washington University (Mo.) 12-3 on Friday in the quarterfinal round of the Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference (GRLC) quarterfinal. 

The first quarter was balanced as each team found net twice for a tie score going into the second quarter.

The second quarter saw the Spartans make their presence known and recorded five unanswered goals in the quarter.

MBU held the 7-2 lead at the half and maintained the momentum as they entered the second half.

The team continued its scoring run and added three more goals but the Bears were able to sneak one past Robert Ates in the third quarter to break things up.

Missouri Baptist held Washington University to zero goals in the fourth quarter as MBU recorded two more goals for a 12-3 victory.

Aaron McClintock led the offense with three goals in the game.

Ates held strong in goal with 11 saves on 14 shots.

The Spartans will continue play in the GRLC tournament to play in the semifinal game at 10 a.m. on April 30 vs the winner of St. Louis University (Mo.) and Lindenwood-Belleville (I'll.).
