ST. LOUIS [BOX SCORE] – The Missouri Baptist men's lacrosse team fell to Washington University (Mo.) 8-7 after double overtime on Wednesday.
The Spartans (5-4) took a quick lead in the first quarter as the team scored four of the five goals in the quarter.
The Bears went on a run in the second quarter and recorded four goals while holding MBU to none.
Washington University held the one point advantage at the half but Missouri Baptist put up the lone goal in the third quarter to tie the score.
Both teams fought for the advantage in the fourth quarter but each team posted two more goals to tie the score at seven apiece.
The game continued into overtime as each team battled for the golden goal. The first overtime produced no results as Robert Ates held strong in the net for the Spartans.
The second overtime the Bears were able to net the game winning goal to end the game.
Aaron McClintock led the offense with three goals on the night. Devin Mayer followed right behind with two goals of his own.
Dan Mollet and Tim Borroff also contributed one goal apiece.
Robert Ates held for nine saves and faced 17 shots on the night.
Missouri Baptist will return to its home turf on Saturday, April 9 for senior day against Lindenwood – Belleville (Ill.).
