ST. LOUIS- [BOX SCORE XU] [BOX SCORE CCG] It was another tale of two matches on Saturday for No. 2 ranked Missouri Baptist Women's Volleyball. 

In the morning match, the Spartans exerted their dominance from the start and downed the Gold Nuggets of Xavier (La.) in straight sets (25-20, 25-23, 25-20).

The All-American Mallory Dillon once again led the way for MBU with a stat line of 19 kills, 41 total attacks, and 10 digs. The senior has pioneered the offense in every match so far in 2016 and Saturday proved more of the same.

In the assist department, Megan Huffman kept pace with the nation's leaders as she posted 42 helpers. The redshirt freshman also chipped in 3 kills from the setter position.

Natalie Gremaud continued to be a rock at the libero position. The senior added to her team-lead in digs with 27 against Xavier. Marion Couraud contributed 9 digs as well for the Spartans.

As a team, it was exhibition of fundamentals by MBU. The Spartans posted 129 total attacks and 64 digs in just three sets.

The second match of the day was not as kind to Missouri Baptist. The Mariners of College of Coastal Georgia came to play and MBU was outgunned from the start.

MBU did push CCG to the limit in each set (24-26, 24-26, 23-25) but were unable to get the timely points.

After a four win trip through South Florida, the No.2 ranked Spartans come home with a record of 6-2. They'll now prepare for St. Mary-of-the-Woods College on Wednesday, August 31 at 6 pm. After Wednesday, it will be nearly a month before the Spartans play another home match. They'll play eight matches on the road before kicking off their home conference schedule against Lyon on September 23.
