ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist allowed 594 yards of total offense from Concordia (Mich.) on Saturday in a 66-21 loss at home.

Missouri Baptist (2-5, 1-2 MSFA) tied the game early with an
Austin Schultz four yard touchdown run to make it a 7-7 game. Concordia, however, utilized bruising running back Joe Connor to give his team a two touchdown lead after one quarter. Connor rushed for 129 yards in the opening 15 minutes and posted two scores to make it a 21-7 lead for the visitors.

The Cardinals extended that lead on the first play of the second quarter with a booming field goal from Josh Kukulies. The junior from Hopkins, Mich., crushed a 51-yard kick through the uprights to extend the lead to 24-7.

By the end of the half, Concordia had gained full control. The Cardinals had amassed 270 yards of total offense and led 45-7 at the break. For the game, Concordia rushed for 349 yards.

Concordia had more in store for the Spartans in the second half. The Cardinals, led by a balanced running attack and an efficient Seth Suida, continued to pile pressure on the Missouri Baptist defense with another 21 points in the final 30 minutes.

Dontrail Johnson with seven total tackles.
D'Ante Cox led the Spartan receivers with three receptions and 61 yards.

The Spartans will wrap-up the home slate of games in 2017 next weekend for homecoming when they will play host to the No. 1-ranked Saint Francis (Ind.). Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at CBC.
