ST. LOUIS- [BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist Men's Basketball opened their new season on Saturday afternoon with a 113-36 rout of Baptist Bible College (Mo.). 

The Spartans scored the first 14 points of the day and never looked back, holding the visiting Patriots to an 18% mark from the field and just 18 points on either side of halftime. MBU had it rolling at the other end of the floor as well, shooting 58% as a team.

Johnny Benson led all scorers with 16 points. The senior also pulled down three rebounds and added three steals. Jahmouri Robinson got the start at point guard and dished out seven assists to go along with five steals. Robinson finished the day 6-7 from the field for 12 points.

Hasaan Decarolis and Fitzgerald Hopkins made it four players in double figures for the Spartans. Decarolis posted 14 points while Hopkins chipped in 10 points and added three assists. All 15 Spartans that made their way onto the floor recorded at least a point in the victory.

MBU will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Lincoln, Ill. They'll battle the Lincoln Christian Red Lions at 7 pm.
