After a dominating performance against conference foe, Hannibal LaGrange on Tuesday, The spartans looked to carry that momentum into their matchup Saturday against Harris Stowe.
The Hornets were able to get the early advantage against MBU in Saturday's competition. Stowe had a nice lead at the end of the first two qaurters taking a 49-35 lead into halftime.
At the beginning of the 3rd quarter it was clear that the Spartan's were defense oriented coming out of halftime. MBU held Stowe to just 17 points in the quarter, while scoring 16 of their own.
In the 4th, the spartans outscored the Hornets 17-15, but the early first half lead proved to be too much to overcome.
Amanda Scott and Shaylen Robinson lead the Spartan scores, each pouring in 13 points a piece. Chanel Brown also had a good outing for MBU with 10 points and 7 rebounds.
The next time we will see the Spartans in action will be Thursday February 23rd, against Williams Baptist.
