ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist Men's Tennis remained undefeated on Tuesday. The Spartans went undefeated in play and grabbed a 9-0 sweep from Fontbonne (Mo.).
Missouri Baptist (3-0) was strong top to bottom on Tuesday as the team improved to 3-0. Ricardo Martin picked-up two wins at No. 1 for Missouri Baptist. The junior posted a win with partner James Tobin at No. 1 doubles 8-5 before a tough singles match.
Martin took-on Sebastian Culton and the ensuing match proved to be a good one. The Spartan junior took the first set 6-2, before Culton forced a tiebreak set with a 7-5 win in the second. In the end, it was Martin who pulled away with a 10-8 victory to post the most hard-fought win of the day.
Jed Flemming also picked-up two wins. He combined with Sean Nanney at No. 3 doubles to grab a point, then defeated Brian Nguyen 6-0, 6-0 in singles action. Austin Hale also posted key wins at singles, and teamed with Lucas Olivera for a win at No. 2 doubles.
Ryan Migneron posted his first singles win of the season at No. 6, while Dylan Walker, and Nicoy Rolle all notched wins in singles.
