SPARTAN MEN’S TENNIS DEFEAT EUTECTICS

ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist looked dominant on Friday as the team cruised to an 8-1 win over the St. Louis College of Pharmacy (Mo.) Eutectics.

Missouri Baptist (5-5, 1-1 AMC/HAAC) evened both its season and conference record with Friday afternoon's win as the Spartans head toward the final four matches of the season.

The lone loss on the day came at No. 2 singles as the Eutectics' Logan Mathies defeated Ricardo Martin 6-2, 7-6 (5).

In doubles, James Tobin and Lucas Olivera won at No. 1, 8-4 while Ricardo Martin and Nicoy Rolle along with Sean Nanney and Dylan Walker went on to 8-3 and 8-0 wins at Nos. 2-3 respectively.

In singles, the Spartans swept the eutectics at No. 1 and Nos. 3-6. Olivera picked-up his second win on the day at No. 1 while Tobin, Walker Nanney and Rolle all did the same at three through six.

The Spartans will head for its final road test of the regular season on Wednesday when they face former American Midwest Conference member, University of Illinois-Springfield. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in Springfield, Ill.
