EASTRIDGE ENTERS THE RECORD BOOK AS SPARTANS ROLL

ST. LOUIS—[BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist Women's Soccer thumped Stephens College 12-0 on Tuesday afternoon at CBC Stadium. Haylee Eastridge scored five goals for the second consecutive game and set a new MBU single season goal record in the process.

The goals came early and often as Eastridge opened the scoring just 43 seconds into the match. She scored her second of the game in the fifth minute and capped off the hat trick in the 17th minute. It was her third that broke the single season record of 15 set by Donna Joliff in 2014.

The Spartans added four more in the first half to take a 7-0 advantage into the break. They tacked on five more in the second half and managed to deny Stephens even a single shot attempt for the duration of the match.

Missouri Baptist used a full roster and nearly everyone found their way onto to the stat sheet. Haylee Eastridge led the way with five goals and one assist. The senior is now second in Division I NAIA with 18 goals on the season.

Freshman Kayla Curry posted the first two goals of her collegiate career while Savannah Harris added one goal and an assist. Danielle Wilde scored her first goal of the season and added assists on both second half Eastridge goals. Riley Janvrin and Cassie Willhite each finished the day with one goal and one assist apiece.

Casey Gutting posted three helpers while Alyssa Matz notched her first goal of the year in addition to an assist. Megan Allen (2), Hayley Guerrero, and Monica Robinson all contributed via the assists category.

The Spartans improved to 6-3-1 overall and 4-1 in the AMC. Their next challenge will be a home date with Freed Hardeman on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 11 am at CBC Stadium.
