MEN’S SOCCER ROUTS COLLEGE OF PHARMACY

ST. LOUIS—Missouri Baptist men's soccer extended its unbeaten streak to six with a 5-0 win over St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Saturday afternoon.

The Spartans overwhelmed the Eutectics from the get-go. MBU fired five shots on goal in the opening 20 minute before finally finding a breakthrough. Nick Johnson's second of the year, off an assist from Brandon Boos, made it 1-0. That score would hold going into halftime.

After the break, the floodgates opened for the Spartans. Cullen Barr doubled the lead in the 58th minute. Johnson added a second goal and Chase Droege and Jesus Espinosa each got on the board in the final 15 minutes as Missouri Baptist pulled away for a five-goal victory. Victor Rada and Maurice Lewis added assists as well. Davide Bucarelli needed just one save to earn his AMC-leading eighth clean sheet of the season.

The Spartans moved to 8-3-2 overall and 4-1-1 in conference play. With five games remaining, MBU currently sits third in the AMC standings. They'll try to keep the unbeaten streak alive on Wednesday when they welcome Hannibal-LaGrange to Spartan Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 pm.
