BELLEVILLE, ILL—The Men's Lacrosse team had their first road trip of the 2018 season, as they headed to Ottawa, Kansas. The squad put up nine goals, coming out on top over the Braves of Ottawa University.
Ottawa started off the scoring this match, but Missouri Baptist's
Noah Boone quickly responded, tying things up. Ottawa put up another goal before the end of the period, putting them ahead by one.
The Spartans hit the field for the second period, ready to put up some tough defense. Within the first couple of minutes, senior
Austin Dahl evened things out, putting up another goal for the Spartans (2-2). Before the end of the period, he scored another, putting the Braves at a one point deficit going into the half.
This time around, things began in Ottawa's favor, as they quickly tied things up in the third period.
Austin Dahl proved to be too much for the Braves' defense, once again, as he put another in the net (4-4). From there, the teams exchanged goals back and forth. MBU led by two heading into the last period.
Ottawa started the fourth with a newfound momentum, as they quickly scored two goals to tie things up, once again. A few more goals were traded back and forth until freshman
Jaxon Haas put in the game-winning goal with thirty seconds to spare. The Spartans defeated the Braves, 9-8.
Missouri Baptist is back in action Saturday, March 3. They take on the (RV) Ravens of Benedictine College. Game time is set for noon.
