MEN'S VOLLEYBALL CLAIMS CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

ST. LOUIS, Mo.--The No. 1 ranked Spartans of Missouri Baptist University went 2-0 on their way to claiming the conference championship title. With both wins, the Spartans improve to 22-1 overall, and remain at 12-0 in regular season conference play.
 
Game #1: Missouri Baptist 3, Park University 2 (19-25, 25-20, 25-13, 21-25, 15-10)
 
Junior outside hitter Steven Rodriguez paced the Spartans with 19 kills and 9 digs. Junior middle blocker Cameron Hibbler and sophomore outside hitter Luka Cajic each finished with 15 kills, while Cajic also earned a double-double with 12 digs. Redshirt-freshman Jack Huizinga also earned double-digit kills with 13 total.
 
Senior setter Kyle Foley finished with a double-double as well, dishing out 55 assists while picking up 23 digs. Junior libero Colton Inman had a new season-high of 22 digs.
 
The Spartans finished with a .304 team hitting percentage on 67 kills, while holding Park to just 44 kills on a .159 hitting percentage. Although the Spartans were out-blocked, 8-9, they had 17 more digs than Park.
 
Game #2: Missouri Baptist 3, Ottawa University 0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-20)
 
Luka Cajic and Steven Rodriguez each finished with 14 kills total. Hibbler hit an impressive .571 percent with eight kills and two service aces. Jack Huizinga added seven kills and four digs. Senior setter Kyle Foley handed-out 40 assists with six digs, while Colton Inman picked up 13 digs.
 
The Spartans posted 12 team blocks, compared to just five from Ottawa. MBU also posted a .375 hitting percentage, while holding Ottawa to just a .231 hitting percentage.
 
The Spartans will now prepare for the NAIA National Invitational Tournament. In less than two weeks, MoBap will make their way to Des Moines, Iowa to battle it out for the championship title.
