ST. LOUIS—The No. 9 ranked Women's Volleyball team started off 2018 conference play, taking on the Scots of Lyon College (Ark.). After three sets, the Spartans claimed victory over the Scots, pushing their win streak to 11.
The first set was a game of back and forth, as the teams traded possession. Tied at 9 apiece, the Scots made some untimely errors, allowing MBU to take the lead, and stay there the remainder of the set. They would go on to take set one, 25-16.
Set two was a different story, as MoBap quickly rolled to a comfortable start. With an eight-point lead (22-14), three consecutive Spartan kills awarded them the second set.
Lyon kept up in the beginning of set three, as errors from MBU gave them an opportunity to push the match to four sets. However, the Spartan offense ultimately proved to be too much. They claimed set three (25-17), and the sweep.
Outside hitter
