BATESVILLE, Ark. – The offense was once again firing on all cylinders for the No. 1-ranked Missouri Baptist University women's volleyball team on Saturday. The Spartans wrapped up their two-game road trip to Arkansas with another straight-set victory in AMC play defeating Lyon College by a score of 25-19, 25-15, 25-17.
With Saturday's matinee win, the MBU women's volleyball program has now logged 15 consecutive 20-win seasons. Missouri Baptist improved to 20-4, 6-1 AMC, while Lyon dropped to 13-10, 4-4 AMC.

Caterina Cigarini and
Katie Duncan combined for 12 kills and each were in on a block during the 25-19 win in Set 1.
Another quick start for the Spartans placed Lyon at a major disadvantage to begin Set 2. MBU scored on the first 12 rallies before the Scots put a point on the board, although Lyon didn't record its first kill of the set until the 15-3 mark. After a quiet opening set, opposite hitter
Giovanna Tapigliani came alive tallying seven kills and a block. The Spartans won with ease in the second set, 25-15.
It was the same tune in the final set as Missouri Baptist built an early 10-2 lead and went up by as much as 10. Several other Spartans got in on the scoring action in the third including
Marina Sanches,
Lisanne van Houwelingen,
Carlee Wise and even defensive specialist
Kamden Maas recorded a kill.
Isidora Stojovic and
Giovanna Tapigliani both finished the day with a match-high 13 kills apiece. In addition to eight kills, senior middle
Caterina Cigarini matched her season-best in blocks with six, including another season high in solo blocks.
Setter
Morgan Berry had another well-rounded performance and double-double as she registered 38 assists (12.66 a/s) 10 digs and a match-high 3 service aces. Libero
Ariana Macies led all players with 15 digs.
Missouri Baptist returns home this Tuesday for a non-conference tilt during Homecoming Week with its neighbor down Conway Road, NCAA DII Maryville University. First serve at the Carl and Deloris Petty Sports & Recreation Complex is set for 7 p.m.
