SPARTANS CRUISE TO 23-0

ST. LOUIS—The No. 1 Spartans rolled to their fourth consecutive sweep on Thursday evening at the Petty SRC. With this win over Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.), MBU maintains their perfect record and secures the No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

Missouri Baptist took a quick lead in set one, as errors halted the Lynx chance at a close game. The Spartans led by five when a service ace from Luka Cajic prompted a timeout from LU-B (14-8). The Lynx could not catch the Spartans, however, as MBU claimed set one, 25-15.

Set two followed suit, as LU-B errors persisted, keeping MBU ahead. The Lynx eventually recuperated, but it was not in enough time. A kill from Cajic gave the Spartans set two, 25-15.

The third set was all MBU as they cruised to a comfortable lead early on (11-4). The Spartan front line dished out kill after kill as errors continued to plague the Lynx. Missouri Baptist took set three with ease, 25-11.

Outside hitter Luka Cajic led the match in kills, earning 13 on an impressive .550 attack percentage. Miljan Kastratovic (.400 attack percentage) and Steven Rodriguez (.538 attack percentage) finished up just behind with a total of seven and eight kills, respectively.

Setter Jason Harman put up 27 assists, while libero Skyler Capllonch managed five total digs.

The Spartans head to Marshall, Mo. on Friday, March 22. They will go head to head with Missouri Valley at 7 p.m.
