LINCOLN, Ill. – The No. 4-ranked Missouri Baptist University women's volleyball team collected its 12
th win in a row on Tuesday evening coasting to a straight-set victory on the road over an up-and-coming program in Lincoln College. With a deep and talented roster, the Spartans overpowered the Lynx with their arsenal of offensive weapons. On Tuesday, MBU turned to outside hitter
Isidora Stojovic, who paced all players with 13 kills.
The 6-2 junior transfer Mineral Area College accounted for nearly half of the Spartans' kills in Set 1, notching five of the team's 11. En route to a 25-14 opening set win, Missouri Baptist recorded five blocks and held the home team to a -0.080 attack percentage.
Redshirt-sophomore
Katie Duncan, one of Stojovic's Mineral Area teammates, stepped up in the next set. With five kills, Duncan led the Spartans offensively during the second frame to go along with
Caterina Cigarini's four points (3 kills, 1 block). MBU once again outmatched the Lynx and won the second set by a nine-point margin – 25-16.
Despite the Spartans jumping out to an early lead and keeping a five-point cushion throughout a majority of the third set, Lincoln wasn't bowing out early. The Lynx made things interesting pulling within one at 24-23 before freshman
Carlee Wise sealed the deal with a kill during the Spartans' third attempt at match point.
Stojovic finished with a match-high 13 kills in addition to 8 digs, a solo block and a service ace. Joining the Serbian in double-digit points was opposite hitter
Giovanna Tapigliani, who finished with 10.5 points on 7 kills, 2 aces and 2 blocks (1 solo, 1 assisted).

Back-to-back AMC Setter of the Week
Morgan Berry kept up her exceptional play on Tuesday totaling 38 assists (12.6 a/s) against the Lynx. The sophomore setter from Shawnee, Kan., also registered a block assist and a pair of service aces. AMC Defender of the Week
Ariana Macies didn't miss a beat either, finishing the evening with a match-best 17 digs and match-best 3 service aces.
The Spartans will have a week of rest and training before they open American Midwest Conference play at Wlilliam Woods on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
