ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist Women's Basketball has been billed as third best in the AMC, according to the conference's coaches' preseason poll released on Wednesday. The Spartans played their way to a 17-6 overall and 12-3 conference record last season.
Head coach
Samuel Pearson, now in his fourth year at the helm and seventh with the program, returns a majority of a team that ended up tied for third in the regular-season standings last spring. MBU retains four out of its five starters and boasts depth across the lineup, including all-conference selections
Tionne Taylor,
Lauren Ebert and
Alexis Allstun.
The new season kicks off with a road trip to McPherson, Kan. The Spartans will take part in the McPherson College Classic and face off with McPherson at 6 p.m. on Friday. A tilt with Bethel College at 2 pm on Saturday rounds out the weekend.
