PREVIEW: MBU LOOKS TO REPEAT AS NAIA NATIONAL CHAMPS

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Just under seven months ago, No. 3-ranked Missouri Baptist University was the last team standing in the 2020 NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship defeating Midland (Neb.) in five sets for its first-ever national title. The Spartans are back in Sioux City this week for their 13th overall championship appearance and are looking to etch their name in the record books as one of the few repeat champions in NAIA Women's Volleyball history.

As the No. 3 overall seed in the tournament, MBU was placed in Pool C with two familiar teams in No. 14-ranked Central Methodist University (Mo.) and No. 22-ranked Dordt University (Iowa). The Spartans defeated CMU in four sets back in September at the MBU Spartan Invitational, while the last meeting between MBU and Dordt in the 2020 NAIA National Semifinals resulted in an epic five-setter that punched the Spartans' ticket into the championship final.
