SPARTANS OUTPLAY TROJANS FOR FIRST CONFERENCE WIN

St. Louis, Missouri – A total team effort propelled the Missouri Baptist Women's Basketball team to a convincing victory against Hannibal-LaGrange, 77-44, at the Carl & Deloris Petty SRC on Thursday night. The Spartans defeated the Trojans in their first conference game of the season after nearly a two-week break in competitive games.

The Spartans were clinical from the field, shooting 49.1 percent, and hitting on eight threes. Five MoBap players hit double figures, and nine scored altogether. MBU came flying out of the gate from the first tip, scoring 20 of the game's first 25 points, and never let up. The Spartans dominated in all facets, scoring more points in the paint, points off the bench and points off turnovers over the 40 minutes. At the end of the third quarter, MBU's lead had stretched to 46, while allowing just two third quarter points to Hannibal. The Trojans struggled to get by the Spartans stifling defense for much of the night. In total, MBU nabbed 19 steals, the most of any game this season.

Starters Lauren Ebert and Alexis Allstun led in scoring with 14 points each, respectively. Senior Tionne Taylor also had 10 as a starter, and forward Kayleigh Winch scored a new career high with 11 from the bench. Kamryn Mack, fresh off her new career high of 18 against Baker, also contributed a solid share of 13 points with the most minutes of any Spartan, playing 28. Ebert was also a big contributor elsewhere, dishing out four assists and getting six of the teams steals to lead in both categories. Senior Joelle Atkins pulled down four rebounds to lead in that category, while six other Spartans tallied three boards apiece.

Missouri Baptist continues conference play on Saturday with a road matchup against crosstown AMC opponent Harris-Stowe State University at on Dec. 4th at 1:00 pm.
