CANTON, Mo. – The search for win number one will continue for MBU Women's Soccer (0-2). The Spartans were held off the scoreboard in a 2-0 defeat against Culver-Stockton (1-0) on Friday night.
It took 15 minutes for the home Wildcats to open the scoring. Off a free kick from midfield, a Culver-Stockton player went down at the top of the MBU box. A penalty was awarded and the Wildcats' Jody Ellis beat goalkeeper

The one-goal deficit held until the 61
st minute when CSC all but sealed the victory. Kirstin Jannin converted a header off a corner kick from Ellis.
The Spartans managed six total shots with four on goal.
Hanna Harrison finished with eight saves on 10 Culver-Stockton shots.
The non-conference slate doesn't get any easier as next on the schedule is No. 25 Benedictine (0-1). Kickoff next Wednesday, September 1, is scheduled for 6 pm in Atchison, Kan.
