ST. LOUIS—Missouri Baptist Head Men's Basketball coach
Preston Ingram has announced the promotion of
Taylor Jarvis to Assistant Coach for the 2021-22 season. Jarvis will fill the role previously held by
Chase Dippel, who is departing to be closer to family in Kansas.
Jarvis, who is pursuing a Masters in Sport Management, made quite an impact in his first season with the program. The Eureka, Mo. native led the Spartans' local recruiting efforts in the St. Louis area. Jarvis also designed and implemented a strength and conditioning program, assisted in gameday operations and management, and served as the Head Coach of the Men's JV team.
"I am thrilled to have Coach Jarvis elevated into the head assistant role," noted
Preston Ingram. "He played a significant role in last year's team success and recruiting and developed a fantastic bond with all of our players. I believe Taylor is a young, up, and coming coach in our profession and will only continue to get better."
Outside of his time at MBU, Jarvis has been a key figure for the Larry Hughes Basketball Academy, serving as the Head of Skill Development and Performance. Along with Hughes, himself, Jarvis developed Basketball Training Systems (BTS) utilized by several other academies including Chris Paul's CP3 Academy, the Bobby Jackson Academy, and the Mamba Academy (created by the late Kobe Bryant).
"Taylor's past experience and expertise in skill development will continue to have a huge impact on our basketball team," Ingram commented. "We've had a ton of success in the past with all of our assistants and I feel like that will continue with him in this role. I am truly thankful for him and looking forward to working alongside with him."
The 2021-22 MBU men's basketball season officially gets underway on October 29 at home against Talladega College.
