WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. – Missouri Baptist women's basketball has been on a tear since league play opened. The Spartans displayed no signs of slowing down on Saturday afternoon in their second game on the road in the American Midwest Conference (AMC).
Missouri Baptist (6-2, 4-0 in AMC) dismantled the Williams Baptist Eagles (2-7, 0-3 in AMC) 76-55, and have begun the month of December in style with two double-digit victories. Sam Pearson's squad grabbed the lead off a
Lauren Ebert 3-pointer two minutes in and never relented, winning the first and second quarters by a 24-13 advantage. The Spartans coasted through the final half of play to remain unbeaten in the AMC.
MoBap has rattled off four straight wins following the 20-point loss to Central Methodist on Nov. 12th. The Spartans have averaged 73.5 points per game, while the defense has allowed only 51.3 points per game over that span.

Tionne Taylor got into double figures again with 12 points, but had her streak of four games as MBU's leading scorer snapped by center
Alexis Allstun. The Jackson, Mo. product did the heavy lifting in the paint for Missouri Baptist, netting 14 on 50 percent from the field with seven rebounds. Fellow starters Ebert and
Deyana Dodd chipped in on both ends of the court with Ebert getting eight points and three steals, while Dodd had a well-rounded stat line of five points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals.
WBU were unable to put a dent in the MBU lead after the 22-point head start after halftime, which increased to as much as 32 at times in the third quarter. Pearson went deep into the bench as all of his 15 players saw action in the win.
The AMC has some fresh faces sitting atop the standings through the first three weeks of inter-league play. MBU is tied with University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy in first in the conference with the unblemished record of 4-0, followed by Stephens College at 3-0 in the AMC. The Spartans will face both schools in the first two games of 2023.

Missouri Baptist travels to the southwest of Missouri for an exhibition against Southwest Baptist on Tuesday, Dec. 6th at 5:30 pm before its last away non-conference contest against Indiana University Northwest with tip-off set at 5:00 pm from Gary, Ind., on Wednesday, Dec. 14th.
