SPARTANS WRAP SENIOR DAY WITH ANOTHER BLOWOUT

ST. LOUIS – On a Senior Day to look back fondly on past memories and accolades, Missouri Baptist women's lacrosse showed it is a team built for the future in yet another 17-2 blowout victory against William Penn University (WPU). The Spartans finish up its regular season slate with a 6-2 home record.

No. 8 Missouri Baptist (10-3, 7-1 KCAC) took the field and honored lone senior Jordan Haeusser in the pregame before turning its attention to William Penn (5-8, 3-4 KCAC). Haeusser would have herself a day, scoring four goals, dishing out two assists, and lead the home side in points with six.

The Spartans would do their damage steadily through the first half and built out a 10-goal lead. For the game, Mobap landed 29 of their 35 total shots on target and forced the WPU goalkeeper into 12 saves for a rate of 83% shots on goal.

Midfielder Chayleb Deves, who has battled Haeusser for the lead in goals all year, racked up five, putting her at 36 for the season. Haeusser ended the regular season just ahead of Deves with 38. Attacker Kamryn Bell was the other Spartan with multiple scores on the day, nabbing four and getting her second game in a row with a hat trick.

With the final marks for the season tallied, Mobap currently ranks in the top 12 in the nation in multiple categories, including goals (183, 11th), assists (75, 12th), goals per game (14.08, 12th), shots (384, 11th), and ground balls (299, 9th).

Other notable MBU performances included Ashley Avery (one goal, two assists), Caroline Karr (one goal, one assist), and Amelia Shaw (five saves).

Missouri Baptist will now wait to find out its first KCAC postseason opponent and the tournament bracket as the KCAC season finishes up next week. By virtue of finishing second in the conference, MBU will host the quarterfinal opening round at Spartan Field, scheduled for Saturday, April 16th, with time TBD.
