CAMDENTON, Mo. – Competing in their final fall tournament of the season, the Missouri Baptist University Spartans Men's Golf team participated in the Battle in the Ozarks at Old Kinderhook Golf Club. MBU finished eighth in the weather-shortened event, with junior
Sam Beggs leading the way for MoBap individually.
The tournament was scheduled to be contested over two days on Monday and Tuesday, but frosty course conditions forced the cancelation of Round Two.
Beggs, hailing from Centralia, Ill., fired a +3(74) to finish the tournament in fifth place overall. It is his best finish of the fall season. Teammate
Luke Gardner carded an 80(+9) which tied him with three other competitors for 33
rd place.
The other three entries for MBU were all bunched between within two strokes of each other. Junior
Pablo Gonzalez Vazquez finished at 84, with junior
Tomas Frencia at 85, and freshman
Logan Malott at 86(+15) which had him finishing in a tie for 56
th place among 78 golfers.

Brody Vondera also competed in the tournament but as individuals, with Weinhaus finishing at +17 and Vondera at +23.
Winning the team title was American Midwest Conference foe Williams Baptist University with a team score of 302(+18). The Spartans finished at 323(+39) for the tournament.
As this is the last event of the fall for both MBU Men's and Women's Golf, both programs will pick things back up in the spring.
