MBU FINDS THEMSELVES ON LOSING END OF HOME OPENER

ST, LOUIS, MO. – Missouri Baptist Men's Lacrosse returned home for the first time this season on Monday Mar. 20th. The game kicked off at 3:00 p.m. against (D2) Adams State University. The Grizzlies defeated the Spartans 19-2

The first period resulted in a 6-0 lead for Adam State. It took nearly 4 minutes for the Grizzlies to open scoring. The Spartans struggled to push past the ASU defense but managed to put six shots on the board. Into the second half the Spartans pushed a little harder and found a goal in the sixth minuet. Sophomore Caleb Tant fount a ground ball behind the net and then pushed through multiple Adam State defenders. The Grayson, Ga. native took his chance to lob the ball into the net and scored his fourth in the season.

The Grizzlies still lead scoring 11-1 after halftime. Missouri Baptist could not find the net the entire quarter, however they led in turnovers 6-2. Adam State went forward to score 8 more goals in the quarter leaving the score 19-1.

MBU was the first to score in the fourth, Attacker Brock Pleis sank the ball in the back of the net. The Freshman from Lake St. Louis Mo. made a similar goal to Tant. Pleis makes his third goal of the season. The results of the fourth period were 19-2.

Keeper Ashton Scott played the full 60 minutes and made a total of 21 saves.

Missouri Baptist Men's Lacrosse is back on the road Saturday Mar. 25th. The Spartans will head to Ottawa, Kan. to play (RV) Ottawa University. MBU goes 3-2 in the last five matches against the Braves. The game kicks off at 3:00 p.m.
