Stunt Brings Home All Wins at Fontbonne Tournament

ST. LOUIS, MO.- Missouri Baptist STUNT (NAIA, No.5) came home this weekend to participate in Fontbonne University's tournament. The Spartans beat out both Buena Vista University (18-0) and Central Methodist (13-9). This is the first time this season STUNT has come home with zero losses.

The Spartans faced Buena Vista first on Saturday morning. The Spartans were defeated in the coin toss but still gained possession die to the Beavers deferring until the second half. Missouri Baptist executed higher level skill forcing the Beavers to forfeit numerous points during the game and when they did have a chance to beat out MBU they came out unsuccessful. The Spartans walked away unharmed shutting out the No. 5 D3 school 18-0.

Round two for Missouri Baptist Stunt posed challenges as (NAIA, No. 7) Central Methodist University pushed back more than Buena Vista did earlier in the day. The fellow NAIA proved to be a worthy opponent. The Spartans forfeited only one point to the Eagles and wasn't until the fourth quarter they gained a lead to CMU. The end results of the game were 13-9 in favor of the Spartans.

Missouri Baptist Spartans move on to the Drury University STUNT tournament to play four teams in the span of two days. STUNT will be traveling March 25-26 to Springfield, Mo., and plan to start their weekend at 2:00 p.m. against (D2, No. 5) Maryville University.
