CONWAY, ARK. - In their second game of the road trip to Arkansas the Spartans played dominantly leading to an 84-51 win against the Mustangs of Central Baptist.
Throughout the first quarter the two AMC foes played a back and forth battle, but MBU was able to gain a five point lead going into the second following an and one layup from Tyler Butler.
The Spartans began to pull away from the Mustangs in the second frame with the help of eight points Amar Mansour leading to 12 points at the halftime break.
MoBap outscored Central Baptist 24-13 in the second quarter to hold a 44-28 lead.
At the break Kayleigh Winch led the team with four rebounds trailed by Marija Runic, Mina Guevara-Goss, and Azori Edwards all with three.
Coming out of the break the Spartans kept their foot on the pedal as they went on a 9-0 run to make it 53-28.
By the end of the third quarter MBU held a 24 point lead over the Mustangs.
The fourth quarter was all Spartans as well as they stretched their lead to 33 points to win 84-51.
Five Spartans finished with double digit points led by Mansour and Butler, both with 14.
Winch and Butler were the Spartans' leading rebounders with eight and seven, respectively.
Throughout the course of the game MBU shot 50% from the field as well as knocking down seven three pointers.
The Spartans finished their Arkansas road trip with a win and a loss and will return home for a contest against (RV) Stephens on Thursday at 5:30 pm.
