ATCHISON, KAN. - Missouri Baptist University hits the road to take on #8 Benedictine for their Homecoming game at 1:00 PM.
The Spartans are set to begin their toughest part of the season as they will visit the eighth ranked Ravens at their place. Following the road contest, Missouri Baptist will return home for their Homecoming game against #14 MidAmerica Nazarene.
Both teams are coming into this week following a bye week, the Spartans are on a four game win streak and the Ravens are on a streak of three consecutive wins. Benedictine's only loss was at home when they hosted the now #2 Grand View Vikings.
The Spartans have found success in both the ground and air game as they have rushed for 14 touchdowns and passed for 13. Jordan Simpson has averaged just over 200 passing yards per game and Lionel Banks has averaged over 100 yards per game rushing to lead the Spartans.
The high powered Ravens' offense has averaged over 40 points per game this season, but their defense has allowed an average of 30 points per game. Jackson Dooley, the Ravens' quarterback, has been able to sling the rock all over the field averaging over 300 passing yards per game to a handful of different receivers.
The last, and only, time these two conference foes have met up was last year when the Ravens came away with a 34-16 victory at Spartan Field. Dooley threw four touchdown passes in that contest as he went 17-29 for 369 yards.
