ST. LOUIS – (RV) Missouri Baptist University, led by
Maiana Coelho and
Gabi Jakubowska, swept Harris-Stowe State University on Thursday night to improve to 4-0 in the American Midwest Conference.
Gabi Jakubowska hit .600 with 16 kills while
Maiana Coelho set the Spartans to a .301 total hitting percentage with 36 assists in the contest.

The Spartans opened set one with a .324 attack percentage, sending 14 kills on 34 attempts and three errors.
Luiza Arsufi picked up three aces in the frame and
Kirsten van der Vleuten led the way to a 25-13 win with four kills.
Jakubowksa took charge in the second set with eight kills while Coelho had assists on 18 of the 25 points. The team hit .382 overall with 20 kills and won 25-17.
Harris-Stowe took an early 3-1 lead in the third set before MBU went on a 12-3 run to jump ahead 13-4, including a pair of aces from
Paige Glueck. After a Spartan attack error,
Fernanda Perini picked up two kills while Jakubowska picked up a kill and a service ace to make it 17-6. A few plays later, the Spartans rattled off six points in a row, got a kill from
Madison Moore, and received a Hornets attack error to end the set and the sweep with a 25-9 set three final.
