ST. LOUIS, MO. – Placing third while out placing five ranked individuals at the Conner Oppenheim Open hosted by Doane University, Daryl Mills was tabbed as the American Midwest Conference Wrestler of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024.

Mills captured weekly honors after going 6-1 on the weekend in a challenging field, where he battled through six rounds on the consolation half of the bracket.  Mills outplaced the #8, #9, #11, #20, and #22 ranked wrestlers in the field on the way to his bronze finish. Mills picked up a technical fall and a major decision through the backside of the bracket.

This award is Mills's second weekly honor of the season and the fourth of his career. 

Mills and the Spartans will travel to Kansas City, Mo., this Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, to compete in the Eagle Duals hosted by Avila University.
